JAKARTA, INFOBRAND.ID – Currently, the Covid-19 virus is still raging in Indonesia, and the public and medical personnel are under tremendous psychological pressure, especially those still fighting on the front lines of the outbreak.

As a continued support for Indonesia’s vaccination drive and the fight against Covid-19, Yili Group and PT Green Asia Food Indonesia (GAFI) have collaborated with the Social Services of DKI Jakarta and West Java to donate over 500,000 Joyday ice cream cones to over 70 hospitals, 7 vaccination centers, 20 orphanages, and underprivileged communities in 18 areas of Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek).

The campaign will last for one month, starting on August 1st and running until the end of August, when the products will be delivered to hospitals, orphanages, and underprivileged communities.

“The dedication, hard work, and sacrifice of the healthcare workers and orphanage caregivers cannot be underestimated. Through this ice cream, we hope to inspire joy in the hearts of today’s heroes, our healthcare workers, who are facing this pandemic,” said Yili Group management representative, Yu Miao.

This initiative is a continuation of Yili Group and GAFI’s commitment to supporting Indonesia’s recovery from the pandemic, particularly by linking vaccination to positive and enjoyable experiences like ice cream. Since early June, Yili Group and GAFI have distributed ice cream products to several community and children’s vaccination centers, including the Pacific Place SCBD vaccination center, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) vaccination center at the East Jakarta Regional Vocational Training Center (PPKD), The Sultan Hotel Senayan, and the Taman Impian Jaya Ancol children’s vaccination center.

“Recovery takes time. We believe that our role as the private sector does not stop here. Yili Group and GAFI are committed and will continue our support in any way we can to support the Indonesian government and citizens,” Yu Miao continued.

The Head of the Jakarta Social Services Agency, Premi Lasari, expressed her deepest gratitude to Yili Group and GAFI for their collaboration in distributing ice cream at approximately 20 locations throughout Jakarta. “The ice cream will be distributed to the community, especially children. We hope this can provide some comfort during the pandemic, especially as we are currently under PPKM Level 4, which requires children to remain at home at all times,” said Premi.

Furthermore, the Secretary of the Jakarta Branch of the Indonesian Pharmacists Association (PD Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia DKI Jakarta/IAI), apt. Drs. Adeng Faturrahman, expressed his deepest gratitude to GAFI. “All the healthcare workers were very happy and excited when they first heard about the Joyday ice cream donation. As soon as the ice cream arrived at the hospital, they all expressed their gratitude. Alhamdulillah, even though we have been working hard, we are entertained just by enjoying delicious and fresh ice cream,” said Drs. Adeng.

In addition to ice cream distribution, Yili Group and GAFI have launched an economic recovery program aimed at MSMEs together with the West Java government through the distribution of modified bicycles and the distribution of Joyday ice cream to hundreds of resellers in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan.
