Yili Group Starts 2022 by Sharing Happiness Through Children’s Vaccines

27 January 2022

JAKARTA, investor.id – Following the inauguration of Indonesia’s largest ice cream factory last month, which has the potential to create 5,000 new jobs directly and indirectly and produce 50,000 tons of Joyday ice cream annually, Yili Group, through its subsidiary, PT Yili Indonesia Dairy, continues its support for Indonesia’s economic recovery and health by conducting vaccinations for children aged 6-11.

The Joyday Vaccine Center, held at SDN Sukabungah 01, Bekasi, West Java, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, aimed to administer the first dose of the Sinovac vaccine to more than 500 students. Through this vaccination, Yili Group hopes to help boost children’s immune systems against the COVID-19 virus so they can learn and play safely, in line with the company’s vision of sharing happiness.

Yu Miao, a representative of Yili Group Management and President Director of PT Yili Indonesia Dairy, stated that Yili Group is pleased to continue supporting Indonesia’s recovery, as the health of the Indonesian people, especially children, is one of the company’s priorities.

“Yili Group is very enthusiastic about contributing to child vaccination programs. We hope that children will be healthy, able to play, and smile while enjoying ice cream with their friends. That’s one of the reasons why we held the vaccination program shortly after the BPOM (Indonesian Food and Drug Authority) authorized vaccination for children aged 6-11. This is to accelerate vaccination for children, as per the government’s target.”

This program is a follow-up to Yili Group’s collaboration with the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) of the Republic of Indonesia. Previously, in December 2021 and early January 2022, Yili Group collaborated with KSP to distribute ice cream at vaccination programs for children aged 6-11 held by KSP at several elementary schools in Jakarta.

Abraham Wirotomo, Chief Expert of the Presidential Staff Office, expressed his gratitude for Yili Group’s ongoing assistance and commitment to the Indonesian people. “We greatly appreciate the spirit of mutual cooperation from all parties who have significantly contributed to the success of the COVID-19 vaccination program. This includes Yili Indonesia’s role in encouraging children to be vaccinated with Joyday ice cream.”

Echoing the KSP, the Principal of SDN Sukabungah 01, Kardi Sukardi, expressed his support for the Yili Group’s assistance in vaccinating students at his school and several other schools near the factory site. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Yili & Joyday for their support in education by administering vaccinations at our school. Although Joyday is new to Indonesia, their concern for the environment, and especially for education, is outstanding. This is demonstrated by the Joyday Vaccine Center at our school.”

In addition to supporting healthcare workers, together with KSP, Yili Group is also actively involved in supporting child vaccination programs organized by the Bekasi Regency Metropolitan Police, distributing over 5,000 ice cream cones at six locations in Bekasi Regency.

The Chief of the Bekasi Metropolitan Police, Senior Commissioner Gideon Arief Setyawan, expressed his appreciation for Yili Group’s support in sharing happiness with children around Bekasi Regency. “On behalf of the Bekasi Metro Police, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to PT Yili Indonesia for their assistance and support in the success of the government’s Merdeka Vaccination and Child Vaccination programs for children aged 6-11.”

Previously, Yili Group also held vaccinations for children aged 12-17 for 500 residents living near Yili Group’s production facility in Cikarang, West Java. Through this initiative, the company hopes to help improve the well-being of families living near the factory.

The vaccination drive for the community surrounding the factory coincided with the inauguration of Indonesia’s largest ice cream production facility, owned by PT Yili Indonesia Dairy. This 2 trillion rupiah factory is capable of producing 159 tons of Joyday Ice Cream per day, with a projected production capacity of up to four million ice cream cones per day once the second phase of investment is completed.

Going forward, Yu Miao stated that in addition to continuing to support Indonesia’s recovery, Yili Group is also committed to continuing to innovate and create more jobs, both directly and indirectly, for the Indonesian people. Yili Group will also actively participate in local economic development and collaborate with business partners to provide the broadest possible social and economic benefits to the community.
