Dairy product producer Yili Indonesia Dairy has continued its support for Indonesia’s successful hosting of the 4th G20 Sherpa Meeting in Bali, November 11-14, 2022.
Yili Indonesia’s support, since the 2nd Sherpa Meeting in Labuan Bajo and the 3rd Sherpa Meeting in Yogyakarta, includes providing the highest quality locally produced dairy products to the delegates of countries and international organizations attending the meetings.
The G20 Sherpa Meeting was held to produce a draft declaration agreement containing the substance of the priority discussions for Indonesia’s G20 Presidency, namely global health architecture, digital transformation, and energy transition. Furthermore, the declaration also addressed the issue of food security, a current global issue.
“After supporting the Indonesian government’s success in holding the second Sherpa Meeting in Labuan Bajo and the third Sherpa Meeting in Yogyakarta, we want to be part of Indonesia’s success again at this meeting in Bali. As a global company operating in Indonesia, we want to be part of realizing post-pandemic recovery, as per the theme of ‘Recover Together, Recover Stronger,'” said Yu Miao, a representative of Yili Group Management and President Director of Yili Indonesia Dairy.
Raden Edi Prio Pambudi, Co-Sherpa of the G20 Indonesia, expressed his appreciation for Yili Indonesia’s role in ensuring the success of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency. He expressed his hope that Yili Indonesia can continue to contribute to Indonesia’s stronger economic growth. “Yili Indonesia’s role exemplifies collaboration between the government, the private sector, and stakeholders in the implementation and success of Indonesia’s G20 Presidency. We hope Yili Indonesia can contribute to Indonesia’s stronger economic growth,” he said.
Yili Indonesia has demonstrated its commitment to support through various ongoing strategic efforts, including the development of local Indonesian culinary delights on the international stage through its Manggarian Joy Mochi Ice Cream menu, made from Roti Kompyang, a typical Labuan Bajo bread. Furthermore, as the company that built and operates the largest ice cream factory in Indonesia, the company also contributes to the development of the upstream industry, including through empowering dairy farmers in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
As a company operating in the dairy processing industry with an investment of IDR 2 trillion, Yili Indonesia is committed to supporting dairy farmers and increasing milk production in Indonesia. The company has also collaborated with numerous local milk suppliers in Indonesia and remains committed to ensuring the quality of its products meets national and international food safety standards.
The company’s ability to build mutually beneficial, sustainable partnerships with business partners across various sectors is one of the keys to Yili’s continued growth during the pandemic. According to the “2022 Global Dairy Top 20” list published by Rabobank, Yili Group’s business recorded 31.7% growth, reaching US$18.2 billion, in 2021. This business growth was the highest among the 20 global dairy producers included in the list.
To support Yili Group’s positive performance, Yili Indonesia will increase its market penetration for dairy products in several regions in Indonesia. The Joyday ice cream producer recently launched a new product variant, the Joyday Champion Ball, joining the 35 top-quality ice cream flavors already available to Indonesians.
“We are committed to supporting stronger Indonesian economic growth, including by increasing the production capacity of our ice cream factory in Indonesia, offering a variety of flavors, and also by expanding our business into other dairy products,” said Yu Miao.
